The main focus of my current work is assemblage, painting, and sculpture. I find my source of inspiration and materials in the natural world surrounding me. My interest is in the erosion of time on objects related to the sea and nearby farmlands. My studio in Westport, has brought my work into the pine trees, the ever changing seascape, and the places where people work with their hands over generations of seasons respecting the elements that simultaneously challenge and sustain their existence.

I have worked for 28 years on site in deserts of the US west (California, Colorado, Nevada) and on the seashores of the east coast (Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont), as well as in Spain and in Italy.

The contemporary artists I am most influenced by include Duchamp, Antoni Tapies, Elizabeth Stockholder, Eva Hess, John Chamberlain. Self taught, I have studied with the artists Joan Snyder, John Murray, Roberta Paul, Jon Imber, Sue Miller and Paul Stopforth. In January of 2013, I participated in a special RISDI class, "Fire and Bronze" working with the Director of the Foundry, Douglas Borkman.

I was also awarded a one month residency in Spain in April 2013. Working with 10 international (Australia, Iran, England, Ireland, Canada) writers and visual artists in the foothills of Mon Serrat, I was able to reflect on the socio-political landscapes of the ever disappearing enviorns and the importance of nature and art to sustaining our lives, cultures and global communities. In 2014 I was in Sicily for one month at the artist residency "Ariagana" on the northeastern sea coast. I also worked on the remarkable volcanic Aeolian Island of Salina.
